Child Care During 8:00 Worship
If you have a child 3 yrs and younger and would like to have them go out of the worship service during the sermon time ONLY we have that flexibility starting in March. Carina Henkel is the coordinator and has arranged for volunteers during worship for the 8:00 service only. They will be in the Tots’ Turf room during this time. The idea is so parents can enjoy the message without the interruptions of a little one.
Feed My Starving Children
Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor. Proverbs 22:9
Little Children, let us love not in word or speech, but in truth and action. 1 John 3: 18
The Fennimore United Methodist Mission/Social Concerns Leadership has designated the special mission offering in January, February and March, to go to an ecumenical and community mission project called “Feed My Starving Children”
Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a Christian organization that is committed to feeding God’s starving Children that are hungry in Body and Spirit. FMSC statements of belief are faith based, quoting scriptures that reinforce their mission.
The Fennimore COMMUNITY is hosting a Mobile Pack Event on April 23rd & 24th to pack 100,000 meals at the Fennimore Fire Department. In order to host an event, we as a community, MUST raise a minimum of $17,000. At the event FMSC provides grains and we make the grains into life-giving meals and pack them into a semi. Volunteering time at this event to pack the rice, soy, and vegetable mixture is easy and fun for all ages. Fennimore is already listed as a future Mobile Pack Event.
As a community event, each church, individual, and organization needs to do their part to help feed starving children in our world. $.17 is all it takes to provide a child with a meal and hope. FUMC has designated FMSC as our monthly mission to provide funds to FMSC Mobile Pack Event in Fennimore. As a church whole we should be able to raise well over $1,500. Our Christian Education students have been collecting quarters in Mini M & M tubes over the last couple months. Each tube holds $14.00 and we’ve filled quite a few and continue to fill them. At the end of December the C.E. department had collected $317.89 in change for Feed My Starving Children. We can feed 1860 people with that money! ($.17 a meal) WAY TO GO!!! Let’s keep it rolling, bring those M&M tubes filled with quarters. Remember a donation of just $14 will provide 100 meals; $140 can feed 1,000 with FMSC.
Checks can be made out to Fennimore United Methodist Church and deposited in the cans and dropped in the offering plate. As always, donations are tax deductible.
If you’d like additional information about FMSC please contact Catrice Hunt, Linda O’Kane, Chris Swan, or Brenda Bunn or click on the logo at the beginning of this article to go to www.FMSC.org.
The cans found in the offering plates on Sunday mornings, during January, February, March, will be used to collect funds to be used for the “Feed My Starving Children” project. If you want credit for tax purposes, please place your donations in an envelope marked “Feed My Starving Children,” and place it in the offering plates on Sundays, or turn them in or send them to the church office. Checks should be made out to Fennimore United Methodist Church with “Feed My Starving Children” written on the designation line of that check.
Thank You for your generous gifts to this most amazing and most worthy cause.
