In the wake of Harvey, we’ve all been saying the same thing, how can we help, what can I do?  I feel helpless!  People are suffering, people need us to help them.  God spoke!  We have a way to help!  We’re able to do two things.

First, if you’d like to make a donation to help Harvey victims, please make your checks payable to FUMC (Fennimore United Methodist Church) and note HARVEY on the memo line. We will be sending the donations down to UMCOR and all funds will assist victims.   Financial assistance is the fastest & easiest.

Secondly, We put out a plea for anyone willing to donate specific supplies needed by the mission field in Texas.  Thanks to the outpouring from the Fennimore & Surrounding communities we just about filled a semi trailer in just 3 days.  Trucking of the donations was made possible by Fennimore’s own, Brett Klais (3:23 Express, LLC) and Klemm Tank Lines.  Thanks for making it all possible!!!!!  You are awesome!

This was a huge opportunity for us to be the hands and feet of Christ in a tangible way during one of the greatest natural disasters in recent history. Thanks again to all of you that assisted in making this possible.  With special thanks to Brett Klais & Family for making the trip to deliver everything.

See You At The Pole

This year See You At The Pole will be September 27th.  We will meet at the middle school and high school at 7:30 AM and the grade school at 7:40 AM.  If there are any students that would like to help lead this with a reading part please let Renee or Sherry know.

UMW District Gathering September 23rd  9 AM to 3 PM

Ladies of FUMC, please think about attending the UMW District Annual Gathering.   Our church is hosting this year. Handouts and registration forms are available on the bulletin board near the Fellowship Hall and at services (handout). UMW ladies from around the district will be here for fellowship, to attend worship and workshops, to hear Rev. Wesley White talk on community, purchase books, etc. …  there will be so much to do.

A mission is chosen for the day and it is our Food Pantry!  So everyone from around the district will bring various items for the pantry.  It is Saturday September 23rd from 9 AM to 3 PM. If you have any questions please call Kim 822-3296 and leave a message, I will get back to you.  We will need a few ladies from our church to help greet and point out where things are in the am.  Also, we are serving rolls and coffee upon arrival and a lunch that day, so we will need helpers for that too.  I will be calling a few ladies, but if you know you are coming, please let me know if you are willing to help. Thanks!

September dates to note:

Willow Creek Community Church Trip, Oct. 28th

We have scheduled a WARCO charter bus for a ONE DAY trip to Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois. Willow Church is the church Renee used to attend and also the home church to Pastor, Author, World Speaker and Teacher Bill Hybels (whom is retiring soon, hence why we want this trip in ASAP)! It is also the church that Lee Stroebel used to teach at when Renee attended. If you’re not familiar with these gentlemen google them. They are pretty impressive and the church is even more so.  Check out the church website for more info –

I’m still waiting for a quote from WARCO and as soon as I have info we will have an insert in the bulletin. If we fill the bus, it will be pretty reasonable. So, lets fill it up for an experience you won’t regret!

If you are at all interested, please let Renee or Chelsea know ASAP so we have an idea how many people would like to attend.  We may also have attendees from Trinity Church in Reedsburg (Renee’s Sister’s Church) that we’ll connect with in Madison.

The tentative itinerary for the day would be depart from the church in the morning, travel about 3 ½ hours, lunch, tour the church, visit the on site book store, eat at one of the multi choice on site café, attend worship service at 5:30 PM and then return to FUMC.

Apple Orchard

We have been contacted and asked if we would like to work concessions at the Apple Orchard again this year.  We don’t have exact dates yet but we will be working at them.  If you are interested in helping let Renee or Sherry know.
