MOVIE NIGHT – Feb 25th
Honor begins at home and we all need to be courageous to be good parents, spouses, and overall children of God; none of it is an easy task. While we consistently give our best at our jobs, good enough seems to be all we have left to give at home. We’re seeing that “good enough” isn’t cutting it in our world today.
We now have the DVD and we will be showing it on Saturday, Feb. 25th starting at 7:00pm. It is PG13 and we encourage husband/wives, men and women to view it, then you can decide if you feel your children should see it.
If there is enough interest, we would like to organize a MEN’S small group that would meet for 5 weeks or so. If you think this is something you’d be interested in, please contact Glen Klais or Renee Zintz. OR, watch the movie and see what you think. If we have enough WOMEN that are interested as well, we’ll have a WOMEN’s small group.
Let’s become the Men & Women that God intended us to be. Let’s start today! Join us for the movie COURAGEOUS and see how your life and family may change.
Youth Meetings
Starting Feb. 12th during Christian Ed time (9:20-10:25) Alex Ames will be gathering with youth 7th-12th grade. They will do various things and it’s completely new, Alex has lots of great ideas. We are still searching for a female co-leader. If God is calling you, please answer him.
TALENT SHOW – 2/18/2012
Plans are underway for a community talent show. Since it was held a few years ago it has been requested for a return. Please mark your calendars to see some talented musicians, comedians, skits, and special talents. The show will be held in the Fennimore High School Gym with more details to be announced later.
GOT FISH?
April 20-21stMark your calendars for the 4th annual leadership summit at the Boscobel/Mt.Zion United Methodist Church. This is where the “birth” of the purple people came from and many great ideas for church growth, improvement and ministry began. If your net is empty, get in the boat! VBS -
Preparations for OPERATION OVERBOARD, Dare to Go Deep with God has already begun. The theme is an under the sea idea with scuba divers, fish, coral reef, boats and all kinds of great fun. The dates will be Sunday, June 10th – Thursday, June 14th. 5:00-5:30 meal, 5:30-8:00 VBS. Thursday night the program will begin @ 7:00 with treats & fellowship following. We will be putting up a donation board very soon. This year we will indicate WHEN the items are needed. Some supplies we need right away. We are very thankful for all the donations and supplies we receive for our VBS program. We would like to ask if you would please consider helping with decorations and prop preparation, as well as volunteer during the week. Again this year we will be serving meals to families Monday-Thursday and we need groups to host/sponsor each meal. Please discuss with your various groups and let us know if you are available to help us out. Registration is available on line on the VBS Page along with more information about this years program. We highly recommend pre-registration so we can have materials for everyone and we are ordering tshirts.
